1.Why you need to Seal your asphalt driveway?
As water permeates cracks in the material and settles down at the base, the strength of the base is compromised, resulting in the formation of potholes. Cracks filled with water are also an open invitation to damage from freezing. Damage from ultraviolet rays and oil/gas spills are other good reasons for sealing asphalt driveways. A properly sealed driveway is protected from erosion, potholes, frost damage and general disintegration.
2.What is Sealcoating?
Sealcoat is basically a coal tar emulsion that is a by-product of the steel coking process. Years ago it was determined this product could be used to seal existing asphalt and protect it from the harmful effects of the sun, severe temperature changes, oil, gas and other hazards. It also beautifies asphalt by returning it to that clean, flat black look.
3.Are all Sealcoat Products the same?
No! While many manufacturers produce "sealcoat", the process, standards and compounds used in the making of sealcoat vary greatly. Our product even further with rubberized, latex epoxy additives. You can buy "sealcoat" locally, but it won't have the solid content or the special additives we use; therefore it won't last as long. But that's only part of the story. Do you really want to haul all those heavy pails home, spill it on your clothes (or worse, the house) and then try and make it look nice with a $10 squeegee? Or would you rather have a professional assess your driveway, make the necessary and proper crack repairs and seal it with State-of-the-Art equipment and standardized procedures?
4.I've got a cheaper quote from another sealcoat company, why are you more expensive?
Not all sealcoat is created equally and certainly not all sealcoat companies are created equally. We are serious about our products, our service and our reputation in the community. If price is the only determining factor,
T & T Sealcoat services may not be for you. We spend more time preparing the asphalt surface and cracks for sealing than the competition. And we're fussy.
